AG Day (2017)

Blog Comments Off on AG Day (2017)

This year marks the 13th year Made in the Shade has been tenting Ag Day at the Capitol.  Ag Day is actually a blending of The California Department of Food and Agriculture,  the California Women for Agriculture and the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom.

Ag Day is an annual event that recognizes California’s agricultural Community. By showcasing the many crops and commodities that are produced in our state they bring awareness to where our food comes from and how it is harvested. It is also a day for farmers and ranchers to educate state legislators, government leaders and the general public about their accomplishments and needs.

Made in the Shade’s part is very important to the success of the event. We set up tenting for more than 30 vendors the day before the event. On the morning of the event large farming equipment is brought to the capitol as well as hundreds of varieties of products the state produces. Whether there is rain in the forecast or an unusually warm spring day, Made in the Shade is there to keep everything covered!

Come out and join the fun at the State Capitol’s West Steps, Wednesday, March 22nd from 11 AM till 3 Pm.
