Our New Losbeger
Just this week Made in the Shade got a new tent, a Losberger Uniflex. This tent is a beast of a tent. Designed from some of the most ingenious engineers all the way from Germany, this tent is a success world-wide because of its functional superiority and style.
The interchangeable tent components within the system enable various configurations, different widths and extensions. It is easy to transport, assemble, dismantle, store and clean.
Losberger is a premium product because the materials and strict metric codes have been engineered with quality in mind. The Trusses are of extruded 4-groove aluminum which makes them light, but because of the 4-layer grooves of aluminum, it makes them durable.
We can install this tent to be 8 meters to 30 meters long (26 feet to 98 feet estimate). This is a big Step for Made in the Shade as we add more structures into our inventory. This tent is top of the line in quality. Quality, along with service and safety represent our three tent peaks you see in our logo!
This year marks the 13th year Made in the Shade has been tenting Ag Day at the Capitol. Ag Day is actually a blending of The California Department of Food and Agriculture, the California Women for Agriculture and the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom.
Ag Day is an annual event that recognizes California’s agricultural Community. By showcasing the many crops and commodities that are produced in our state they bring awareness to where our food comes from and how it is harvested. It is also a day for farmers and ranchers to educate state legislators, government leaders and the general public about their accomplishments and needs.
Made in the Shade’s part is very important to the success of the event. We set up tenting for more than 30 vendors the day before the event. On the morning of the event large farming equipment is brought to the capitol as well as hundreds of varieties of products the state produces. Whether there is rain in the forecast or an unusually warm spring day, Made in the Shade is there to keep everything covered!
Come out and join the fun at the State Capitol’s West Steps, Wednesday, March 22nd from 11 AM till 3 Pm.

We are so excited to be a part of an event that has been growing since it began in 2008. Situated in Golden Gate Park, the event boasts multiple stages and brings in 40,000 to 60,000 people each day over the three-day period. This year, our friends at Lantier Structures brought us in on the project. Given our large 10x inventory, we were tapped to handle all the beverage, catering and craft tents located on the Polo Field. Not only is our large inventory attractive to these large concert events, it is our speed at which we install. Our crew pops up the small tents with such speed that sometimes we even get ahead of ourselves.
The total install for Made in the Shade will take place over four days, almost two weeks prior to the actual event. There will be lots of details that we will need to pay close attention to. That is why large companies can depend on Made in the Shade. They know we take pride in our work and in our process to ensure the customer’s needs are always met.
Being in San Francisco, there are logistical challenges that we must face. Not only is the distance (107mi from our warehouse) a major factor, but also the weather presents another hurdle to overcome. July/August in San Francisco can be downright freezing where the central valley sees a temperature at or above the century mark. It is not uncommon for the crew to only see about 30 minutes of sun while working in Golden Gate Park, but you can bet they appreciate working in cooler temps as opposed to the sweltering heat of the Central Valley.
Recently we had CPR training at our offices in West Sacramento. Safety is very important to our operations here at Made in the Shade. When we go to various jobsite throughout the area we are typically in remote areas, sometimes where there is little to no cell coverage. If an emergency occurs, we have put procedures in place to address them accordingly. Fortunate for us, because of how our training is set up and the protocols we have in place, we have experiences no issues in over 3 years. That is quite an achievement for all of us here at Made in the Shade. We like to think of ourselves as leaders when it comes to safety in the tent industry. When you see Made in the Shade on the job, you know your job is going to be installed safely and by dedicated professionals who possess the skills to build your job!
Back when we started out as a small company, we never dreamed that one day we would have structures as part of our inventory. When we began adding these structure tents in the late 90’s early 2000’s we were noticed by various regional home and garden shows. These events were quite lucrative in the early 2000’s as the housing boom really started to gain traction. When the economy hit the bottom in 2008 these shows started to fade away. As of late, they are back again and almost as big, if not bigger than before. This is from a set up for the Dixon Home & Garden Show. You can find multiple shows in the region from Napa to Vacaville to Sacramento and Auburn. If there is a large tent, more often than not, it is a tent by Made in the Shade.
