Back in December, 2017, we were contacted by Shannin Stein with Habitat for Humanity, Greater Greater Sacramento. They were planning their fundraising gala. One thing was certain, it was to be on the West Steps at the State Capitol. So many different events have taken place at that very location. Trying to create an event that would stand out, have a powerful subtext and get people talking was the challenge.
Whenever we meet with a new client it is always best to listen to what their vision is for their event. Shannin definitely had a vision. As the tent company, we are responsible for creating their event space. In order to accommodate the amount of guests we brainstormed using 10th Street by building tents down the middle and leaving a gap in the center to focus on the Capitol Dome to the east and Tower Bridge to the west.
This set up wasn’t going to work. Then it hit us. How about raising the floor so that it was level with the top set of steps to create a space to meet the needs of the guest list. This was not an inexpensive
